Beta Design Consultants Director, Fahed Maida (BEng, MSc, CEng, MIStructE), was invited to join an expert panel discussion to conclude proceedings at the Reusing Existing Buildings Conference held at the Instittion of Structural Engineers, London, UK in Dec 2023.
Our Director shared lessons learnt regarding the value of phased structural investigation, importance of communication and coordination, benefits of early contractor involvement, role of project management in risk allocation and management. The role of the consulting structural engineer in advising the project team was discussed with lessons drawn from case studies.
