Our Director, Fahed Maida BSc MSc CEng MIStructE, was invited to the panel discussion at the Structural Rehabiliation Conference, London 2022. Held at the Headquarters of the Institution of Structural Engineers, the conference discussed challenges and opportunities presented in the asset management and infrastructure of bridges. Our director presented the viewpoint of consultants such as Beta Design Consultants engaged in the development of repair and strengthening solutions. He shared lessons learnt and ideas as well as challenges encountered during the design and implementation of novel and traditional structural intervention techniques. Examples discussed included use of carbon fibre composites CFRP and high performance concrete HPC as well as more traditional methods.
